Restoration of the transept and the five towers

Restoration of the transept and the five towers

The current phase of these works comprises the exterior restoration of the Romanesque transept and the five towers.

These towers are among the oldest cathedral towers in Western Europe (13th century). In addition to the restoration of the wooden towers, the stone facades were cleaned and the lead roofing replaced.

In order to make this restoration work possible, particular attention was paid to the site configuration. It was built between the towers especially for this phase.

Our specialist glass, stone and woodworking departments at the participating companies helped make this restoration possible.
